Taman Bunga Nusantara – The Not So Secret Garden of Puncak

Gardens and flowers have a way of bringing people together, drawing them from their homes ~ Clare Ansberry

Bogor pleasantly surprised me. I thought that the only thing worth doing there was just paragliding but it has more to offer. Located 3 hours from the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, it is away from the city’s commotion and noise. Bogor does not strike you as a must-go-to place but delve a little deeper and you will discover more.

On our second day in Bogor, right after paragliding, we went to Taman Bunga Nusantara or Nusantara Flower Garden in English. Located between Bandung and Bogor, the garden is an excellent place to spend the day relaxing. Spread across a large area of land, the colors and the foliage are worthy of being in postcards.

Well-kept and a feast for the eyes, you can lay your mat on the grass and your picnic basket. It is a delight to explore the gardens on foot but if you are feeling too lazy to walk, you can always go on the tram and be whisked from one part of the garden to another. if you are ever in Puncak, do take some time to check the garden. The cheap entrance fee makes it more than worth going to.

Entrance fee: 30,000 IDR (less than USD $3)

A garden is always a welcome sight to me
There is even a maze in the middle of the gardens!
You can’t help but imagine being in one of Europe’s gardens when you’re at this section
This reminded me of Bali
Flowers and plants are shaped in all manners of animals like this one
Picnics are always welcome
