Surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens, imposing and a gem in the desert, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a wonderful welcome to the city of Abu Dhabi. Conceived by the first president of the country, Sheikh Zayed, the mosque also marks his final resting place. […]
Fine desert sand, hot weather, structures that seem to reach up to the sky and camels are some of the images conjured on people’s minds when Dubai is mentioned. However, in the middle of all these juxtapositions of modern existence and traditional life is a pocket of exquisite blooms called Dubai Miracle Garden.
One of the city’s must-see places with over 72,000 square meters, it is the world’s largest natural flower garden. It has over 100 million flowers and it is home to the Dubai Butterfly Garden which is the world’s largest indoor butterfly garden with more than 15,000 butterflies from 26 species.
I visited the garden in the afternoon of March 2018 when summer was just starting. It was a great sunny day perfect for sightseeing. So, with much excitement, we went to the garden and it did not disappoint. There were colors everywhere and one of the main attractions is the Emirates Airbus A380 covered in flowers, as well as cute, little houses with a profusion of colors.

How to Get There
Getting to the Dubai Miracle Garden is not easy. We got lost and found ourselves driving in circles before we finally got to the garden. Suffice it to say that driving in Dubai is not one of the easiest things to do.
If you are a tourist, your best bet is to take a taxi. Taxis are not expensive in Dubai but do take note that the Dubai Miracle Garden is quite far from the city center so the taxi fare will be substantial.
Another option is to take public transportation. Take bus route no.105 from the Mall of Emirates metro station. The Dubai Sightseeing Bus also makes its way to the Dubai Miracle Garden.
What to Wear
If you plan on going during warm summer months, it is best to wear light fabrics but if you plan to go during winter months, cover up appropriately as it can be cold. Dubai is an open city so wearing short dresses and skirts should not be a problem but do keep in mind that it is an Islamic country so avoid very revealing clothes.
Eating at the Dubai Miracle Garden
There are numerous cafes serving Western, Arabic, Filipino and other cuisines so you need not worry about getting hungry while exploring the beautiful surroundings.
